Collectible first issue of Sports Illustrated, notable for its historical significance as well as for the 1954 Topps paper baseball cards printed on an inner pull-out. This copy was the personal copy of George "Shotgun" Shuba, whose pinch home run in the 1953 World Series helped inspire the publication of the magazine. Very well cared for, the magazine exhibits signs of light handling and is encased in a custom leatherette slipcase with gold leaf printing of a 1980s Sports Illustrated logo.
