Ernie Russell, a feared goal scorer, played his entire professional career for the Montreal Wanderers from 1905-14. He was a four-time Stanley Cup champion in 1906, 1907, 1908, and 1910 and, incredibly, is credited with having scored a hat trick in five consecutive games. A Hockey Hall of Famer, he was inducted in 1965. This 1910 Sweet Caporal Hockey Postcard of Russell, #35 in the set, exhibits rounding at the corners with somewhat more pronounced wear to the the upper-left. A small dark speck is present at the lower-left corner and areas of toning are visible to paper on the reverse. Graded VG 3 by PSA it remains one of only 13 graded examples across both PSA and SGC's population reports combined.
Please note: our printed catalog displays "RC" in the title indicating rookie card status. This is in-fact considered a second year card for Russell, consistent with his C55 issue.
