This SGC GD+ 2.5 grade for the split-grip of Charles Clapp shows fine detail in its main image, with Clapp himself in a warmup sweater. It's framed by wear typical of handled cards from that era, with bumped corners and small marks on its borders. (We also think this gent looks older than the age 21 on their team roster!) Combined population reports show just two at SGC and five more at PSA.
This black-and-white, 200+ card T209 "photo series" set stands out as one of the largest ever featuring minor league players, yet is obscure enough to be rarely seen or discussed. Love of the Game is excited to offer a sizable number of singles in this auction, freshly graded and new to the hobby. (If these photos originate with the teams themselves, we're also looking at contemporary stadiums and grandstands from that era.)
