Collection of 11 contracts spanning the minor league career of George "Shotgun" Shuba between 1944 and 1947. Collection Includes: 1) 1944 Olean (Class D) Contract: Signed by Shuba and twice by Spencer Harris, calling for $200 per month, $100 of which was to be paid by the Montreal Royals. 2) 1944 Durham (Class B) Contract: Signed twice by George Shuba, twice by Katherine Shuba (George's mother), and twice by Harold Roettger, calling for $150 per month. 3) 1944 Mobile (Class A-1) Contract: signed twice by Shuba and once by Charles Hurth, calling for $200 per month. 4) 1944 Montreal (Class AA) Contract and envelope: Signed twice by Shuba and twice by Hector Racine, calling for $150 per month. 5) 1945 Mobile (Class A-1) Contract: Signed twice by Shuba and twice by E.C. Allen, calling for $275 per month. 6) 1945 Montreal (Class AA) Contract: Signed twice by Shuba, twice by Katherine Shuba (George's mother), and twice by Hector Racine, calling for $225 per month. 7) 1946 Mobile (Class AA) Contract: Signed by Shuba and twice by E.C. Allen, calling for $350 per month, $275 of which would be paid by the Montreal club. 8) 1946 Montreal Royals (Class AAA) Contract: Unsigned by Shuba and signed twice by Mel Jones, calling for $400 per month, paid half in US and half in Canadian currency. 9) 1946 Montreal Royals (Class AAA) Contract: Signed by Shuba and twice by Mel Jones, calling for $425 per month (looks like George held out), paid half in US and half in Canadian currency. 10) 1947 Mobile (Class AA) Contract: Signed once by Shuba and twice by E.C. Allen, calling for $500 per month. 11) 1947 Montreal (Class AAA) Contract: Signed by Shuba and twice by Mel Jones, calling for $425 per month, with incentives enabling him to earn $475 per month, paid half in US and half in Canadian currency. All well-preserved but worn with signs of having been read, reviewed, and signed, then stored away for many years. 11 contracts total.
