Strong card of "Baldy" Silch, an outfielder who excited Brooklyn fans with his arrival in 1888, as he'd been an amazing hitter for Denver the previous year, finishing with a .408 average in 109 games. His lackluster defense, however, limited long-term success against their major league competition, and Baldy was back in the Western Association by year's end.
