Rawlings Official National League (Giamatti) baseball, signed and inscribed on the sweet spot by George Shuba. The inscription, carefully applied in blue ballpoint, reads as follows:
George "Shotgun" Shuba
First World Series Pinch-Hit Home Run
National League 1953
Shuba's two-run pinch home run was his only at bat of the 1953 World Series, a sixth-inning blast off Allie Reynolds in Game 1 that brought the Dodgers to within one run. Sadly, the Yankees would continue scoring, winning the game 9-5.
This baseball was in the possession of the Shuba family until being consigned to Love of the Game; it carries a Basic Cert from James Spence Authentication.
