December 1953 letter from Dodgers president Walter O'Malley to George Shuba, wishing Shuba a Merry Christmas. The letter is a personal one, referring to the knee injuries that plagued Shuba through his entire career, as well as his "chronic throat" condition, perhaps a reference to the hyperthyroidism that Shuba was diagnosed with in 1954. O'Malley also suggested it was time for Shuba to "develop a serious romance." He signed this letter boldly in blue ballpoint. The letter presents well, with many long-ago flattened folds and some surface wrinkling as well. O'Malley also initialed the letter after the postscript. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication, consigned by Shuba's family.
