This well-painted card of knuckleball ace and future Hall of Fame pitcher Hoyt Wilhelm sings praises about his remarkable 1952 rookie season, when he led the league in appearances, ERA, and win percentage. Wilhelm went on to post five All-Star seasons in all, his last for Atlanta at age 47 in 1970. Few men in baseball history played like Hoyt.
The PSA EX-MT 6 grade reflects its sharp image, clean borders, and minimal corner wear, just a bit of chipping along its black border. Some stray print marks on the front and back appear to be what hold it back from even higher scores. A beautiful example of an unique player.
