Lefty Mel Parnell averaged almost 20 wins per year during his peak with Boston, notching a pair of All-Star seasons and this excellent painting of a simulated Fenway Park scoreboard behind his portrait. His 1949 totals are eye-popping, especially by today's standards. This card is almost as impressive.
The PSA MINT 9 grade reflects its perfect centering, bright borders, and sharp corners. Cards at this grade stand out as great, even when compared to something fresh from a pack. A slight shift in his blue ink pass adds a drop shadow of sorts to the Boston cap. Everything else is what you want from any vintage card.
