The Braves still played in Boston when Topps started designing their 1953 set, so some Braves players like Johnny Logan show a "B" on their domes. By its later series, city and cap art changed to Milwaukee, where the team kicked off on April 13. Those transplanted Braves ultimately finished second in the NL, if well behind Brooklyn.

The PSA NM-MT 8 grade reflects its near-perfect centering, balanced borders, and almost flawless corners. You can see a bit of chipping along its black border, which proved endemic to any set with dark ink along an edge. The back looks equally sharp and dead-center. The population report shows just ten graded higher!
