Presented in a PSA 6 holder, this second-year Jackie Robinson card hails from the first of three consecutive sets featuring the bevy of well-executed illustrations provided to Bowman by the staff of the George Moll Advertising Agency, under the astute artistic direction of Charles Steinbacher. Based on a well-known photograph of Robinson, the level of detail on this card is exceptional, with Ebbets Field stands prominent in the background.
This clean example has some mild wear at the top right corner and a slight top-to-bottom centering issue, both minor flaws in the bigger picture. Registration is typical for this card, and the reverse is also clean, with a slight tinge of the "wax line" often seen in Bowman cards. A great-looking card, a key for any collector of cards from the hobby's Golden Era.
