One-sheet movie poster from the 1962 film Safe at Home, featuring both Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris. Capitalizing on the success of the Mantle/Maris home run race of 1961, Safe at Home tells the story of young Hutch Lawton, a little leaguer who tells his friends he knows the Yankee outfielders. The film starred William Frawley (Fred Merz from I Love Lucy) and featured cameos from Mantle and Maris, along with Ralph Houk, Whitey Ford, David Mantle, and Joe Pepitone. The 27" x 41" poster displays very well despite exhibiting edge and surface wear, as well as heavy folds in the paper due to storage. Light age-related discoloration results in the edges being slightly lighter than the rest, the likely result of having once been framed. Small edge tears are also evident here and there, along with markings on the reverse. Still, an excellent display piece featuring two of the most popular players of their era. Please note that this piece will be delivered folded as it has been stored.
