Willis Flournoy (sic "Floynoch") pitched well for several teams and leagues over an almost 15-year career from 1919-32, perhaps augmenting his pay with undocumented and barnstorming play typical of that era. We're fortunate today that Caribbean sets like this one exist, as they offer clear portraits of many otherwise hard-to-find players from this pre-integration baseball era.
The SGC AUTH grade reflects hand-cut edges, a spot of residue on the reverse, and mark on the front that could be from its original print process. Cards from this 1923-24 set often show handling damage when left unprotected, reducing surviving examples across the board. Just four appear on the combined SGC/PSA population reports for this Flournoy card and he might not have any other "official" releases. Love of the Game is proud to offer many of this Cuban set's key cards.
