Extremely sharp portrait card of Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente. Just his third Topps card, the first to refer to the Puerto Rican native as "Bob," a practice that offended Clemente, as he was fiercely proud of his heritage and found the name "Bob" or "Bobby" disrespectful. Despite this, Topps continued referring to Clemente as "Bob" through their 1969 issue, reverting back to "Roberto" in 1970.

Despite the name, the 1957 card remains one of Clemente's most popular, featuring a sharp portrait image of the smiling right fielder. This example is an extraordinary one, well-centered and sharp, devoid of the print flaws that plague early Topps cards. Aside from lightly-touched corners, this example is relatively flawless, exactly the kind of beautiful, colorful card that makes the 1957 set one of Topps' most popular and enduring.
