Listed as one of the scarce subjects in The Photographic Baseball Cards of Goodwin & Company, catcher and infielder Frank Graves had 24 at bats for the 1888 Minneapolis Millers, and was rewarded with six different poses in the N172 Old Judge issue. Graves' playing career was brief, though he also served as a minor league manager and umpire during the latter part of the 19th Century. SGC has assessed this card as GOOD 2, likely due to corner wear and a very light stain on the reverse from adhesive tape. We invite you to pay attention to the irregular cut of this card, all four edges wavy and off-center, yet still enough to attain a numerical grade. We also invite you to examine the much more valuable Amos Rusie card in this auction, which received an AUTHENTIC grade from SGC due to a single irregular cut edge.
