Colorful, engaging of the future Hall of Fame pitcher from his second Topps appearance. Hoyt did so well during his rookie season that he received a somewhat rushed high-number card from the 1952 set. This hand-painted 1953 portrait treats him somewhat better and ranks among his best all-time cards.
The PSA EX 5 grade reflects touched corners, a bit of flaking along the black border, and perhaps the centering nudged to the upper-right. It is an otherwise standout example that suits any mid-grade set or Hall of Fame collection.
