Grouping of four cabinet photos from the estate of Varney Anderson, a pitcher who had a four-year major league career between 1889 and 1896 with the Indianapolis Hoosiers and the Washington Senators. Adding in his minor league career, Anderson played for nine seasons, shuttling from team to team around the country and then, according to Baseball-Reference.com, went to work at a watch factory.  The collection includes several studio cabinets featuring Anderson and others who are ostensibly members of his family.  The most interesting, however, is a photo of a baseball team that, based on the writing on the reverse, appears to be the Rockford Forest City team of 1897, a team on which Anderson played as a 31-year-old nearing the end of his career.  Others identified on the cabinet include George Babbitt, Frank Dillon, Al McCauley, George Bubser, Bobby Warner, Fred Underwood, Frank Ferguson, Tony Esterquest, Frank Violet, and Jack Quinn, many of whom saw time in the majors.  Four cabinets total.
