Complete set of 150 1909-11 T51 Murad Cigarettes College Series cards, including the key Williams College basketball card, graded SGC 3. Each card in the set features a different collage or university along with an associated sport or recreational pursuit. Many cards in the set feature baseball, football, basketball, or hockey, with several other sports and various outdoor activities represented as well. Of particular interest to collectors are the four basketball-related cards featuring Luther, Northwestern, Xavier, and Williams. While some generic basketball-related cards do predate the Murad set, these four cards are often regarded as the very first basketball cards to depict college or pro teams. All cards in this set are printed on thin paper stock that is highly susceptible to creasing, wear and rounding of corners, all of which are present among this grouping.
