The challenging E90-1 set is known for its vibrant colors, eccentric variations, and loose relationship to the stated "100 subjects" that American Caramel would go on to exceed by at least a score, depending how you count its subsequent E90-2 and E90-3 releases. This card added to its checklist inadvertantly by printing an error that later needed correction.

Hall of Fame slugger and future player-manager Fred Clarke followed Barney Dreyfuss from the Louisville Colonels to Pittsburgh, building a Deadball Era career few could match in performance or achievements. This error card called him a Philly player, which American Caramel later corrected with a haphazard "Pitt" overtype onto its nameplate. This SGC GOOD 2 example provides an accessible way for E90-1 collectors to nab a key variation from this seminal candy set. Its grade reflects modest corner rounding, a touch of ink loss on the front, and ink mark on the reverse.
