These bright, oversized cards come from a set of players shown on boxes that contained a basketball, as sold via toy stores in the Los Angeles area. Well-cut examples with balanced borders, such as this John Havlicek, stand a bit taller than modern cards at about 2 3/4" x 4 1/2".
This PSA AUTHENTIC grade reflects a clean cut with nearly square borders and one water mark on the left side. Its population report shows just five total graded, with only one receiving a number, so any collector will find this set a challenge. The future Hall of Famer appeared in his first official sets during 1969, which makes this one of his rookie cards!
