Catcher Ned Bligh is featured on six Old Judge cards, all with the Columbus Solons of the American Association. Bligh managed just 122 at bats with Columbus in 1889 and 1890, his 1889 batting average just .140. Bligh's career was cut short, as he contracted typhoid fever and passed away at the young age of 27. PSA has conservatively graded this card VG 3, perhaps exaggerating the corner wear. The image quality is strong, with above-average contrast (as is the case with nearly all the N172s in this auction), the image itself well-centered. No collector would argue if this card was in a VG-EX holder.
