This SGC PR 1 grade reflects limited space under the nameplate, slightly rounded corners, and flecked ink on each side. Known by collectors as the longest-lived member of the T206 set and inducted into Cooperstown some 45 years after he last pitched a MLB game, this Rube Marquard portrait offers an accessible way to add the portrait for this future Hall of Famer. Its top edge bears a fragmentary name of Birdie Cree, who peaked for the AL New York team about when this card reached packs of Piedmont.

If you are interested in the original photo of this classic T206 pose, see the Hall's Studio cabinets of several New York Giants also offered in this auction.
