Bill Dahlen appeared in four games total as Brooklyn player-manager across 1910-11, closing out his two-decade MLB on-field career. Dahlen excelled during a critical early era for baseball, with a decade on either side of 1900, and posted numbers similar enough to Hall of Fame contemporaties that many wonder why Cooperstown voters have (so far) failed to honor him with induction.
