Collection of seven stubs hailing from three separate NBA playoff series featuring the 1988-89 Chicago Bulls. All stubs in this collection originate from Blackhawks superfan, Bob Gertenrich, aka "Blackhawk Bob," who was a fixture at sporting events in Chicago beginning in the 1960's. Bob has applied his handwritten notations in black ink to the face of each stub, providing the date and outcome of the associated games. While Bob was diligent with his record keeping, the notations do reduce technical grades of all examples. Collection includes: Game 3 - 1989 Eastern Conference First Round: Bulls win 101-94 behind Michael Jordan's 44-point game, taking a 2-1 series lead. GOOD overall condition. Game 41989 Eastern Conference First Round: Cavs win 108-105, forcing Game 5 and setting the stage for Jordan to hit "The Shot" to win the series two nights later. GOOD overall condition. Game 3 - 1989 Eastern Conference Semifinals: Bulls dominate the Knicks 111-88 after a 42-point second quarter. GOOD overall condition. Game 4 - 1989 Eastern Conference Semifinals: Bulls win 106-93. Jordan rebounds from groin injury to drop 47 points on the Knicks, bringing his Bulls within a victory of clinching the series. GOOD overall condition. Game 5 - 1989 Eastern Conference Semifinals: Bulls win 113-111, with Jordan scoring 40 points, sending them to the Eastern Conference Finals against the Detroit Pistons. Following the game, Knicks coach Rick Pitino is quoted as saying "Michael Jordan is the best player to ever put on a uniform." GOOD overall condition. Game 4 - 1989 Eastern Conference Finals: Pistons win 86-80, tying the series at four-games-a-piece. Detroits tough defense holds Jordan to 23 points. FR-GD overall condition. Game 6 - 1989 Eastern Conference Semifinals: Pistons win 103-94. Jordan leads the Bulls with 32 points but it isn't enough, as Isiah Thomas' Pistons clinch, vaulting them into the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers. FR-GD overall condition. Seven stubs total.
