Undoubtedly one of the keys to the E93 issue and also one of the more popular prewar cards in the entire hobby this card of Christy Mathewson depicts him in the pose popularized by his "Dark Cap" T206 card. Set against a deep orange and red background this card is more colorful and vibrant than its T206 cousin and this example particularly so. Graded VG 40 by SGC the card does exhibit a decent amount of wear along with a pronounced crease at the upper left corner but the crease does not interfere with the image of Mathewson nor does the wear detract significantly from the appealing nature of this card.
