The photographer for this card captured Hank Aaron as youthful and yet already a champion, as Milwaukee used his MVP slugging to capture first their NL pennant and then the 1957 World Series over New York in seven games. His 110 career homers would seem a drop in the bucket just ten years later, as Hank raced Willie Mays toward Babe Ruth's career mark. Many considered Mays the better bet for several seasons, with Aaron's ceaseless consistency winning out with #715 in early 1974.
This PSA EX-MT 6 grade reflects its clean surfaces and strong borders, with lightly touched corners perhaps holding it back from higher scores. It will suit any mid-high 1958 set or Hall of Fame collection.
