c.1960's Type I photo of legendary NBA superstar, Bill Russell. A familiar image, this shot of the young 6' 10" center served as the source material for Russell's 1964 Boston Celtics picture pack photo. Borders of photo appear to be slightly trimmed, with this example measuring approx. 7.25" x 9.75" overall. Obvious adhesive residue can be found on verso, with a handwritten identifier of Russell in ballpoint towards the top edge. Perhaps the greatest basketball player to ever live, Bill Russell was enshrined into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1975 and is an 11-time NBA champion, winning 8 of those titles consecutively from 1959-66. The five-time NBA MVP is also a 12-time All-Star, and was named to the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team in 2021. Authenticated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA and their full LOA is provided.
