Intriguing overlap of baseball, boxing, and hobby history in this pair of real photo postcards from Engel Stadium of Chattanooga, Tennessee. The scene shows alternate views of boxing ring construction adjacent to home plate, with staff attending to its ropes and structure. 

Both postcards present strong, clear front images, offering a detailed look at Engel readying for a rare non-baseball event. Early collector Wirt Gammon sent one of these to fellow collector Buck Barker and appears to ask whether he had any D77 (1952 Mothers Cookies Television and Radio Stars) available for sale. Their exchange adds interest for any fans of our hobby history, as well as those who collect shots from minor league stadiums. Engel Stadium is known, in part, as the site where teenager Jackie Mitchell struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig during an exhibition game in 1931.
