One of seven poses granted to infielder and pitcher Gil Hatfield, and a stunning 1889 example with a bright image with outstanding contrast.  The card is forever memorialized as the plate specimen in The Photographic Baseball Cards of Goodwin & Company, and has an image that is far superior to what collectors are accustomed to seeing with this issue.  Though one extraordinarily high grade example of this card is known (graded NM-MT 8 by PSA), this is the second-highest graded, an exemplary card.
