Depicted in what may have been his worst season outfielder Dick Bayless spent two seasons with the Atlanta Crackers of the Southern Association before moving to Mobile and Memphis. In 1908 Bayless made it to the Cincinnati Reds for a cup of coffee hitting .225 in 71 at bats. His seasons in Atlanta merited appearance on a Red Sun Cigarettes card 104 years later highly sought after among collectors as a rare and valuable minor league issue.
