A high-quality PSA NM-MT 8 from a superior 1960 Topps set, now offered as singles for this auction. Like others graded at this level, it shows excellent overall images and detail quality, with minor factors holding them from the very highest scores. The small registration issues on its orange field could explain that grade for this #539, whose population report shows lower counts overall and just eight higher!

This seventh and final series of 1960 Topps cards reflected a number of midseason moves, including Gene Baker's recovery from a leg injury that caused him to miss all of 1959. This success story included three at-bats for Pittsburgh in the 1960 World Series they won in seven games, capping a saga Gene was no doubt able to share many times in future years.
