Rookie outfielder Tony Gonzalez appears in this final 1960 series on the strength of his first two months with Cincy. He would make a much bigger impression in Philly, who traded for Tony in mid-June. Gonzalez went on to average nearly .300 over a decade excelling wherever they played him, held back from true superstar status by recurring health issues. He belongs in any conversation of "best players to never make an All-Star Game," given the stiff competition outfielders faced in that era to break through positions dominated by legendary opposition.
