Another high-quality PSA NM-MT 8 from one of the best 1960 Topps sets in the hobby, now broken up for this auction. Like other cards at this level, it shows excellent overall quality, with just minor factors like a bit of fuzz on one corner keeping it from something higher. #446 proves especially difficult to locate in peak grades, with the population report showing just two higher.
Rookie Ellis Burton played sparingly during his early years in St. Louis, so it is fortunate Topps captured such an engaging photo of the youngster in their classic uniform before he moved on to regular play for Cleveland and Chicago. As his card cartoon confirms, Ellis showed good power from both sides of the plate and was one of the rare switchhitters to homer lefty and righty in a single game.
