From one of the top 1960 Topps sets in the hobby, this is a fine example of a card equal to, or better than, its already high PSA NM-MT+ 8.5 grade. As with many 1960 singles offered in this auction at a similar grade, the population report shows just a few higher.
While this card laments Carroll Hardy's lack of full-season opportunities, things changed in 1960 following a move to Boston, where he roved the outfield on a more regular basis for three seasons. Baseball history experts know him best as the only player to pinch-hit for Ted Williams.
