John Henry "Heinie" Sand played six seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies between 1923 and 1928. He was a starting infielder that entire time shuttling between shortstop and third base but primarily playing short. After the 1928 season Sand moved to the International League playing five more seasons and finishing his career in 1934 with Mission of the Pacific Coast League. Sand who passed away in late 1958 autographed this attractive 1923-24 Exhibit card in ink at the bottom of the card just above his name using his nickname. The card survives in VG/EX condition approximately the signature bold and legible.
