New York thought so much of stalwart 1950s Brooklyn reliever Clem Labine that he returned to finish his career with a handful of games for the expansion Mets in 1962. In-between, Clem played for World Series winners in three different cities, 1955 Brookyln, 1959 L.A., and 1960 Pittsburgh, a rare feat then as today. This clean, well-centered card notes he walked twice in one 1954 inning, an unusual August 8th contest where 15 straight Dodgers reached base safely. Labine closed that game to earn a save despite being ahead by 13 (!) runs. The population report shows 12 cards share this PSA MINT 9 grade, with just one higher.
