Ernie Broglio's 1960 season went so high, so fast, that I bet his ears popped. He led NL pitchers with 21 wins and 7.1 WAR, set a wins record by relievers, and continued a similar level performance until St. Louis shipped Ernie to Chicago as part of an infamous swap for future Hall of Famer Lou Brock. It's hard for Cubs to think of Broglio, who tailed off rapidly on the North Side, without remembering what they had in Brock. PSA graded this clean, well-centered card MINT 9, and their population registry shows just one higher.
