Pitcher George Disch managed to pitch in eight games including three starts with the 1905 Detroit Tigers. His lifetime record was 0-2 his Earned Run Average a paltry 2.64. Hi minor league career was also brief just five seasons spent toiling mostly at the lowest levels where he pitched and played outfield. In this attractive real photo postcard he wears the uniform of the Freeport Pretzels (yes Pretzels) of the Wisconsin State League. Disch played with that team in 1907 and 08 sharing the field with fellow future major leaguers Max Fiske Davey Crockett and Jack Warhop. Though the postcard has been graded POOR 10 by SGC it has been addressed on the reverse but not postally used and the quality of the postcard is strong with only minor wear to the surface and corners. The image quality and contrast is exceptional making this another outstanding document of turn of the century baseball in small town America.
