The Propagandas Montiel Los Reyes del Deporte or "Sport Kings" cards were issued as part of a 180-card set that included Cuban and American baseball players as well as boxers wrestlers and retired ballplayers. Such is the case with this card of Christy Mathewson graded GAIR 20 by SGC due to centering corner issues and staining. The Propagandas cards are nearly all in VG or lesser condition printed on very flimsy paper and often glued into an album for safekeeping most of the surviving examples have taken a beating over the years. Such is the case with this example. Despite the condition issues cards from this set remain desirable among collectors due to them being an interesting and more scarce card type.
