Known as "The Golden Age of Sports" in America, the Roaring Twenties featured dominant athletes like Babe Ruth, "Big Bill" Tilden, Red Grange, Jack Dempsey, Bobby Jones and others. Considered to be among the greatest tennis players of all-time, Tilden is pictured with the Bambino during what we believe to be 1927 as the background of this photo and Ruth's attire match others we've seen known to have been shot that year. Approx. 7.25" x 9.25" photo appears to be a vintage original in great shape overall with no visible signs of wear. Photo has been mounted to a brown board with text at the bottom that reads: "The Greatest Players in their Respective Sports -- 'Big Bill' Tilden and 'Babe' Ruth." A portion of the mount has chipped away at the top-left corner and some paper loss is apparent on verso. A rare image we have not seen elsewhere, featuring two titans of their respective sports while in their prime.
