The 1952 Topps Eddie Mathews represents the "perfect storm" of postwar baseball cards: a rookie card of a Hall of Famer from the desirable "high number" series of the hobby's premier postwar issue, condition-sensitive due to being the final card in the set. As a result, higher-grade specimens are extremely difficult to find, and quite valuable. This example has been graded EX-MT 6 by PSA, a sharp and colorful specimen with an unblemished surface. The primary condition flaw relates to top-to-bottom centering; left-to-right is approximately 60/40. 1952 Topps Mathews cards carry a large premium on the few occasions when higher-grade examples are made publicly available. A spectacularly sharp and clean card from the second series, the final card in Topps' crowning achievement, the monstrously popular 1952 set.
