Wilson football, signed by members of the 1963 NFL Champion Chicago Bears.  The JSA LOA lazily notes "10+" signatures on the ball, apparently too difficult to count to 38, which is the number of signatures on the ball. The key signatures, of course, belong to Hall of Famers George Halas and Mike Ditka, plus Hall of Famer George Allen, who would go on to coach the Rams and Redskins. Signatures include Doug Atkins (HOF), Ditka, Billy Wade, Stan Jones, Joe Marconi, Richie Petitbon, Mike Pyle, Joe Fortunato, Dick Evey (who was not with the team until 1964), Larry Morris, Bennie McRae, Ed O'Bradovich (severely faded, almost invisible), Rudy Bukich, Rick Casares, John Johnson, Herman Lee, Dave Whitsell, Bob Kilcullen, Bob Juncos, Bob Wetoska, Mike Rabold (not with the team until 1964), Jon Arnett (not with the team until 1964), Billy Martin, Rich Kreitling (not with the team until 1964), J.C. Caroline, Johnny Morris, Rosey Taylor, Jim Purnell (not with the team until 1964), Ted Karras, Gary Barnes (not with the team until 1964), Ronnie Bull, Roger LeClerc, Phil Handler (coach), Bill George (severely faded, almost invisible), Luke Johnsos (coach), George Allen (defensive coordinator), and George Halas, plus one more that's so faded we just can't make it out. Aside from the three faded signatures noted above, all present very well, and clearly include a few later signatures that imply that perhaps the ball was signed at the beginning of the 1964 season.
