Lena Blackburne is one of our favorite players - not because of anything he did on the field but because despite being an average player he managed to contribute something to the game that has outlasted even the greatest players of his era: Lena Blackburne's Baseball Rubbing Mud. The mud which Blackburne discovered in a secret place along the Delaware River separating northern New Jersey from Pennsylvania is still harvested and used today to rub baseballs before every major and minor league game. This cut signature has been artfully mounted alongside a photo of Blackburne onto a blue postcard advertising a card show. The signature has been graded NM-MT 8 by PSA.
