The concept of a "metamorphic" trade card is simple - it's a card that changes form by altering part of the card to change its image. In this case, folding the top portion of the card downward covers the man and child with an umbrella, when unfolding it reveals the image underneath. The images underneath are disturbing by 2024 standards, the father whipping is son with a switch for buying the wrong brand of cigarettes. The reverse contains some additional advertising for Old Judge. FAIR condition with some creasing near the folds and corners, along with the die cut areas.  Visible toning on the reverse.
