7" x 9" Type I photo depicting Moose Skowron, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra and Hank Bauer at Yankee Stadium in 1956. The four Bombers teammates are posed in front of their dugout, bats directed towards the camera as if they were weapons of war. Of course, Mickey Mantle captured his Triple Crown in 1956, leading the major leagues in batting average (.353), home runs (52), and RBI's (130), before blasting three home runs in the World Series and earning AL MVP honors. Skowron, Berra, and Bauer would account for 79 home runs between them during the regular season, adding another 5 in the 1956 World Series and helping to avenge their loss to the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 1955 iteration of the fall classic. Appealing original news service photograph remains virtually free of obtrusive wear, only exhibiting faint abrasions to the extreme corners upon close inspection. Verso does show some minor staining along the right edge that does not detract from overall attractiveness of the piece. Credit stamping from International has been applied to verso which also includes a full paper caption that is folded over, the typing obscured. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA.
