Hobby pioneer Lionel Carter was known for his discriminating taste when it came to condition and eye appeal; collecting long before the days of third-party grading and the internet meant that occasionally concessions needed to be made for even the most condition-conscious collector. Such was the case here, with Frank Owen's card, which is bright and lean but does suffer from a bit of corner wear. Sold as part of the liquidation of Carter's legendary collection more than a decade ago, the card was then graded by SGC and still bears that pedigree.
