One of the most important mainstream cards of the 1960s, featuring a rookie "floating head" image of Pete Rose, who passed as we were building this auction. A well-centered, high-grade example, the card images are bright and clean, free of the print defects often found with this card. The 1963 Topps cards are particularly condition-sensitive due to the colorful bottom (or top, in the case of the rookie cards) borders and their propensity for chipping - this example exhibits very lightly touched corners exposing just a tiny bit of white at the top right, as well as a small amount along the edges.
