8" x 10" Type I photograph from Milwaukee County Stadium on Opening Day, April 12, 1960. Superstar Roberto Clemente is pictured in-action, scampering towards third base following a failed pickoff attempt by Braves hurler, Warren Spahn in the fourth inning. Clemente would finish 2-4 with an RBI during the very first game of a season culminating with Bill Mazeroski's legendary walk-off home run during Game 7 of the 1960 World Series. There is some graininess to this image due to being captured with a telephoto lens from a distance and subsequently enlarged to current dimensions. Verso remains bright white with a label affixed to the upper-right corner and a newspaper or magazine clipping pasted in the bottom third. A date stamp of April 13, 1960 has been applied to the clipping on the right side. Authenticated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA and includes their full LOA.
