Collector-grade example of a tough card.  Delehanty, who had a fearsome reputation as a power hitter, clubbed 101 career home runs between 1888 and 1903, largely with the Phillies.  Between 1894 and 1896, Delehanty hit .407, 404 and .397, swatting four home runs in a game in 1896.  Sadly, though, Delehanty is probably best known for his manner of death. One night in 1903, Delehanty was kicked off a train in the Niagara Falls area for allegedly being drunk and threatening passengers on the train.  Walking over the International Bridge, Delehanty either fell or jumped into the river, and went over the Falls.  Details of his passing remain a mystery.  The mystery, however, makes Delehanty a popular subject among collectors, his cards and memorabilia among the most valuable of 19th Century sports artifacts.
