Absolutely stunning September 29 1980 issue of Sports Illustrated featuring The Greatest Muhammad Ali. The magazine itself is in VG/EX condition with an otherwise outstanding cover. Along the right edge in the scan what you actually see is the inside first page and not damage to the cover at all. This particular issue featured a gatefold ad for the 1980 Chevy Monte Carlo on the inside front cover. The resulting gatefold actually made the front cover page slightly more narrow than the rest of the publication thereby protecting the edge fairly well from rips and dings. Ali signed his name across the front of the publication in bold silver Sharpie.
